Signal Hill offers two launch sites including this, Signal Hill Bench.
This site overlooks Sea Point and Green Point, with stunning views accross Table Bay to Robben Island and beyond. Good scenery of Table Mountain and down the Peninsula may also be seen.
For experienced pilots crossings to Lion's Head, Table Mountain and The Twelve Apostles are possible. Rapidly changing weather conditions and no immediate landing area below the ridge gives this site an advanced licence rating. A slope landing or glide across to Green Point might have to be attempted if you sink out, be careful as this might be tricky.
