Table Mountain (suitable for advanced pilots only) is not only the most sought-after but also the highest launch site in Cape Town, but with its rapidly changing wind directions it is not often flown.
For this reason special licenses are required to appreciate the stunning views of the city and Western seaboard beaches. There are three launch sites. The Gully(W), overlooking Clifton & Camps Bay, The Front Face (NW), overlooking the city center and Maclear's Beacon (Light SE), facing the southern suburbs and Constantia.
Due to licence requirements it is not suitable for Tandem Paragliding.
We meet at the car park adjacent to the Cable Way, before determining the ideal launch site.
